Birkenhead
Birkenhead as a town is product of the industrial revolution. its name is derived from the old English term bircen meaning Birch tree, which grew on its headland at one point in time. The town is known for its shipbuilding industry and centre for commerce. It has also been quite a literary name with cultural references mentioned in the song of The Smithsand books by Paul O'Grady, who by the way also lived here.
